Welcome!

Dear Subscriber,

Greeting from Taipei!

As November unfolds, Taipei is full of German-Taiwanese activities, from cultural and educational events to business and industry exchanges.

Tomorrow, the Taiwanese-German Laser & Photonics Conference will bring together companies and experts to explore the latest trends in photonics and laser technology, setting the stage for a week of exciting collaboration.

Looking ahead, the holiday season is also approaching, and with it comes one of Taiwan’s most anticipated winter traditions – the German Christmas Market 2025! Soon, the scent of mulled wine, the sound of festive music, and the sparkle of Christmas lights will fill Taipei, New Taipei, and Taoyuan, bringing the warmth and joy of a true German holiday celebration to Taiwan.

Continuing our efforts to foster connections between Germany and Taiwan, we were thrilled last week to host the Young Union Württemberg-Hohenzollern in Taipei and share ideas on enhancing economic collaboration.

Following recent exchanges on German-Taiwanese collaboration, we had the pleasure of hosting German Culture Day at ZEISS Taiwan, sharing insights on German work culture through lively presentations and discussions.

Continuing the focus on German expertise in Taiwan, Covestro Taiwan will present at the PIDC Plastics Industry Innovation Forum on November 12, showcasing how AI drives sustainable transformation of high-performance materials — a strong example of German expertise supporting Taiwan’s industrial development.

Extending our engagement from business to education, parents are invited to the Open House at TES German International Kindergarten on November 22. It’s a great chance to explore the facilities, meet the teachers, and see how children can learn and grow in a playful, international environment.

Finally, we wrap up this week with the latest updates on Taiwan’s economy and company developments.

Stay tuned for more events and insights as we continue to strengthen German-Taiwanese connections. In the meantime, please stay safe and take care during the approaching typhoon.
