Dear Subscriber

first of all, I would like to wish you a happy, prosperous and successful new year 2019 and I once more would like to thank you for all your great support in 2018.

After our Christmas holidays, our entire GTO and DEinternational team is back and full of renewed vigor and enthusiasm to approach all tasks lying ahead of us in 2019. As in previous years, we will continue to work hard on the promotion of bilateral trade and economic cooperation between German and Taiwanese businesses.

As one of our main topics for this year, we will initiate a business platform “German Business in Taiwan” to emphasize the close link of German enterprises with Taiwan and to put a highlight on German origin as a guarantee for quality and sustainability of our products and services. This platform shall intensify our cooperation in order to focus even more on German enterprises and their activities.

Another important topic will be the broadening of our visibility for Germans interested in any business-related topics in Taiwan. Therefore, it would be great if German companies could provide us with the latest news from their company, such as a change in the leadership, new developments, latest trends in their industry etc., which we could cover in our newsletter as well as on our website to more thoroughly inform Germans about the latest business developments in Taiwan.

Another part of this strategy will be to give our Company Directory a new layout and format to make it more attractive for our listed companies as well as our readership.

Last but not least, we are convinced that DEinternational will be able to even further extend their services for our customers and push topics such as vocational training in Taiwan.

What happened in Taiwan last week? Banks reported combined pretax profits of NT$318.05 billion in the January-to-November period, up 7.5 % from the same period in 2017.

I wish you a pleasant day.
