Welcome!

Dear Subscriber

this week’s highlight will be our GTO Goose Dinner 2018, taking place at the Shangri-La's Far Eastern Plaza Hotel on Thursday. We are already very excited about our annual Christmas dinner and are also very happy that so many German companies donated prizes for our lucky draw. The whole profit of the lucky draw will be donated to the Childhood Cancer Foundation of R.O.C. which supports children with cancer and helps them to finance their therapy and medical expenses. We would be very happy to welcome you at our great Christmas event!

Last week I traveled back to Germany, where I met with Association of German Prädikats- und Qualitätswein products (Verband Deutscher Prädikats- und Qualitätsweingüter) on Tuesday to discuss possible cooperation which would enable German winegrower to enter the Taiwanese market. I am very confident that we will find a solid form of cooperation to make German wine more famous in Taiwan.

The next day I met with members of the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg for Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing Construction to determine joint activities. Furthermore, I also visited the IHK Nürnberg to learn more about the concept of the European EnergyManager. Our long-term plan is to bring the European EnergyManager training to Taiwan, in order to have qualified staff that is able to increase the energy efficiency in industrial processes.

What happened in Taiwan last week? After the referendum on November 24, 2018, the Taiwanese government announced it was abandoning its deadline of phasing out nuclear power by 2025. However, the goal of turning Taiwan into a nuclear-free homeland in the long run will still be upheld.

I wish you a pleasant day.

Visit to IHK Nürnberg - European EnergyManager Training

On Wednesday, November 28, Chief Delegate and Executive Director Axel Limberg visited the IHK Nürnberg to learn more about the concept of the European EnergyManager.
The German Trade Office Taipei is currently looking into this topic to bring the European EnergyManager training to Taiwan in the long run. The target group for the EnergyManager Training are technical experts and companies’ executives as well as energy service provider.
The EnergyManager is intended to provide and ensure more energy efficiency and saving within the company and take care of a functioning energy management system. As energy costs are always one of the major topics for companies in the industry sector, increasing energy efficiency and saving energy is decisive for the companies’ profits.
