🏙 Strengthening German-Taiwanese ties in Taichung!   On July 30, our Chief Representative Dr. Eva Langerbeck was welcomed by Taichung Mayor Lu, Shiow-Yen for an exchange on economic cooperation, cultural ties, and developments in the machinery industry.   Mayor Lu emphasized Taichung’s role as Taiwan’s second-largest city and key industrial hub and introduced support measures for foreign companies such as a 'single-window' service and subsidies for overseas exhibitions. Dr. Langerbeck highlighted the city’s importance for German businesses and expressed hope for continued collaboration.   The visit was also joined by a delegation of leading German companies with a strong presence in Taichung, including Managing Director of Beckhoff Automation Taiwan 倍福自動化, Mr. Phylex Ong, Managing Director of HEIDENHAIN Taiwan, Mr. Derek Tsai, Chairman and General Manager of HeliService Taiwan, Mr. Norman Pin and Mr. Markus Timar, General Manager of KTR Taiwan LTD Ktr Ltd., Mr. Chang-Jung Wu and two deputy directors from igus® Taiwan 台灣易格斯, Mr. Vincent Chiang and Mr. Sean Hsiao.   We’re grateful for the warm welcome and the open dialogue and look forward to deepening collaboration between German businesses and the dynamic city of Taichung. 🏙 強化台德經貿在台中的發展!   我們的首席代表暨處長蘭依樺博士於7月30日拜會台中市長盧秀燕，雙方就經貿合作、文化和機械產業發展進行了交流。   盧市長強調台中為台灣第二大城市，同時也是各項產業發展重鎮。會議中她也提到，為了協助外資企業落腳台中，市政府推行「單一窗口」的服務，打造高效的友善商業環境。且為了提高台中市在國際的能見度，市政府也積極補助九大產業工會參與海外展覽。德經處處長蘭依樺博士也強調台中市為德國企業在台灣發展的重要角色，並期待未來能與市政府有更多合作機會。   本次會面也偕同多位德國企業代表，包含倍福自動化有限公司總經理王綏雋、海德漢股份有限公司總經理蔡易霖、台灣開天傳動科技有限公司經理吳榮昌、台灣海力航空董事長賓立亞與總經理Markus Timar、台灣易格斯有限公司副協理蕭正原與副協理江明政。   我們非常感謝台中市政府的熱情款待與開放的對談，並期盼將來德商能與充滿活力的台中市締結更深厚的商務合作關係。 #PartnerInTaiwan #GermanTaiwaneseRelations #Taichung #GermanBusiness #IndustryExchange

Meet our new Events, Delegations and Governmental Affairs Intern, Zoe Welz!   🎓Zoe is currently pursuing her Double Degree Master's in European and International Public Policy and Politics in Milan and London, set to finish in 2026. She decided to join our office to gain valuable experience in international affairs and expand her knowledge of the relations between Germany and Taiwan.   🌏Having grown up in China and Taiwan, and living in Hsinchu for four years, coming back to the island feels like coming home, though she is still exploring Taipei, especially seeing how things have changed in the last 8 years. She is enjoying riverside runs and biking up the mountains around Taipei regularly.   👏Over the next few months, Zoe will be supporting the team in organizing events, doing market research and becoming further familiarized with the current political situation. Meet our newest addition to the Trade Fairs Team, Bo Fung!   Bo has lived in four other cities before moving to Taipei in 2024 after completing her MBA. Her experience in sales, marketing and operations is invaluable to us and perfectly accompanies her studies of Business Administration to support the team. She goes above and beyond in cross-border collaborations, mastering Cantonese, Mandarin, English and Japanese fluently, with elementary proficiency in Thai complementing these languages.   Outside of work, Bo enjoys cooking frequently and trying new recipes, as well as practicing kendo. 🌏Exploring Germany–Taiwan Cultural Industry Collaboration We recently had the pleasure of visiting the Department of International Business at the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA), where we were warmly welcomed by Director Su Shu-Kuan, Senior Manager Jennifer (Tzu-Fen) Huang, and their team. 💡During our exchange, we gained valuable insights into TAICCA’s work in international co-production matchmaking, creative content, and cooperation. We also explored the agency’s collaboration experience and potential with Germany in fields such as film, music, publishing, and fashion. Director Su introduced the Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF) and discussed opportunities in cultural tech, while Senior Manager Huang shared impressions from the Berlin International Film Festival and insights into connections with the German industry. 🙏 Many thanks to the TAICCA team for the inspiring and insightful exchange.
