A bright day for photonics in Taipei! Today, we kicked off the Taiwanese-German Laser & Photonics Conference by bringing together a dynamic mix of German SMEs and Taiwanese industry leaders to explore the latest in photonics, optical components, and laser technology. We were delighted to start the day with opening remarks by Ms. Linda Blechert, our General Manager, and Ms. Franziska Wonneberg from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE), followed by keynote speeches from Prof. Yi-Ping Wang, Graduate Institute of Advanced Semiconductor Technology, Taiwan Tech, and Dr. Wenko Süptitz, Head of Photonics at SPECTARIS. The German delegation featured top innovators and industry leaders including codixx AG, Cutting Edge Coatings GmbH, DOCTER OPTICS SE, TOPTICA EAGLEYARD, Grättinger Möhring von Poschinger Patentanwälte Partnerschaft mbB, LEJ - Leistungselektronik JENA GmbH, MERSEN Deutschland GmbH & Co KG (optoSiC), OptoTech Optikmaschinen GmbH, SCANLAB GmbH, and WinWinTec International. The networking lunch was full of lively discussions, with participants exchanging their own experiences, ideas, as well as discovering new opportunities to work together in photonics and lasers. 🌏Our CSR Day in Wulai: 17 German Companies Inspire Students to Explore the World Today, we led 17 German companies to New Taipei City’s Wulai Elementary and Junior High School for the fifth annual CSR Day— this time taking the event to a mountain community school! The event was attended by our General Manager, Ms. Linda Blechert as well as Principal Tsai Yi-Ling from Wulai Elementary and Junior High School, alongside representatives from all 17 participating German companies. 🌟Students, mostly from the Atayal indigenous community, explored environment, technology, safety, and sustainability through hands-on lessons led by German business representatives turned one-day teachers. They also learned about the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how innovation can address social challenges. Trade Fair Service Intern Ivy!   Currently, Ivy is studying Public Administration and Policy at National Taipei University , where she focuses on public policy, sustainable development, and international cooperation.   Inspired by a deep interest in Germany’s educational system, she has been learning German for three years at the Goethe-Institut and plans to pursue a master’s degree in Germany.
