DMEA 2025 Wrap-Up – Spotlight on AI and Digital Health Innovation 🤖📲    AI, electronic health records, and interoperability were the hottest topics at DMEA 2025 (DMEA - Connecting Digital Health), which concluded with record-breaking 20,500 participants, 900 exhibitors, and 470+ speakers across three dynamic days.    Taiwan was proudly represented by six exhibitors during DMEA 2025– Onyx, IntelliGen (Anatomy Cloud Co., Ltd), FaceHeart, ModernSolid (Modernsolid Industrial Co., Ltd.) , GoDEX International and Taiwan Trade Center (TAITRA Global (Taiwan External Trade Development Council)) – showcasing smart healthcare solutions. A highlight: , IntelliGen (AnatomyCloud) impressed the visitors on-site during the Press Breakfast on siteand off-site by Ernst-von-Bergmann Klinikum (Klinikum Ernst von Bergmann) with hands-on demonstration with immersive 3D Anatomy Clod AI Imaging Systems.     We were also honored to welcome Dr. Chien-Chang Lee from the Taiwan Ministry of Health and Welfare, who delivered insights over Taiwan’s Digital Healthcare landscape, the 3 national level AI Centers establishments, alongside counterparts from Sweden, Finland, and the Netherlands.     Besides DMEA, we also facilitated our business and ministry delegates for visit at the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI), EvB Klinikum Potsdam, and the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) to explore Germany’s healthcare value chain and digital policy framework, fostering exchange on potential areas of collaboration.    🙏 A sincere thank you to Lukas Gärtner (IHK Potsdam), Julia Pietsch (GTAI), HPI, EvB, BMG, and the DMEA team for the warm welcome and support. 🤝 Strengthening Germany–Taiwan Cooperation in Education & Innovation 🌐 Last Thursday, our Chief Representative & Executive Director, Dr. Eva Langerbeck, together with Dr. Josef Goldberger from the Saxon Science Liaison Office Taiwan, had the pleasure of visiting Taiwan’s Ministry of Education (MOE). 🙏We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Deputy Minister Dr. Ping-Cheng Yeh (Ping-Cheng (Benson) Yeh) the dedicated teams from the Department of International and Cross-Strait Education (DICE) and the Department of Information and Technology Education (DITE) for the warm reception and insightful exchange. 💡Our discussion centered on bilateral exchange in digital education between Germany and Taiwan. We were highly impressed by Taiwan’s advancements in digital learning, especially the integration of AI-driven technologies that are reshaping the educational landscape. We also shared Germany’s current focus areas in digital education policy. Furthermore, with LEARNTEC and DIDACTA Asia as key platforms this year for fostering global collaboration in EdTech. These platforms offer valuable opportunities to link innovation, research, and education across borders. 📘Another key highlight was the potential for expanding bilateral talent exchange through international internship programs. 📢 Our latest Flash Survey is out!   From March 7–20, we asked German businesses in Taiwan how they assess the impact of the German federal election and potential U.S. policy shifts on their operations.   While the survey shows that over 50% anticipate negative effects from possible U.S. tariffs, many companies have since emphasized that these challenges—though serious—may not have an immediate or drastic impact. Instead, they are adapting through supply chain diversification and stronger local partnerships.   On the German side, responses were more optimistic, with expectations of closer economic ties and increased support for international businesses.   Thanks to all who participated! Yesterday, we hosted our GTO Wirtschaftsstammtisch – Spring Edition 2025 in the cozy atmosphere of Hua Shan Din Café x Bar in Taipei! It was a wonderful evening of reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting new members of the German-Taiwanese business community. Over great food, fresh Erdinger beer, and engaging conversations, participants had the opportunity to network and exchange ideas in a relaxed setting.  🤝✨ This edition also featured a joint presentation by our Chief Representative & Executive Director, Dr. Eva Langerbeck, and Christine Herbst-Kubitz, General Manager of Digital Industries Taiwan at Siemens Ltd., Taiwan. They shared key insights from our recent survey on how the 2025 German Federal Elections and the new U.S. administration could influence business operations in Taiwan.
