#NTU Joins Hands with #TSMC 台灣積體電路製造股份有限公司 and German Government to Forge a New Era in International Semiconductor Talent Development NTU, TSMC, the Saxon State Government of Germany, and the Leonardo-Büro Sachsen have jointly launched the second edition of the "Semiconductor Talent Incubation Program Taiwan (#STIPT)" this semester. The students, selected by the German government from 9 universities in Saxony, Germany, represent 30 elite individuals from 4 countries. They will undertake an intensive one-semester training program at NTU. The curriculum, designed by 9 NTU professors serving as expert mentors, includes professional semiconductor module courses such as #Device_Integration and #Manufacturing, #Instrumentation and #Equipment_Engineering, and #Smart_Manufacturing, aiming to strengthen the students' professional capabilities before their summer internship at TSMC. During the summer, students will participate in a two-month practical training at TSMC Taichung Branch, bridging academic knowledge with industry practice. NTUOIA will also organize career development workshops, Mandarin courses, and the local cultural tour during the semester. These activities are designed to cultivate students' workplace soft skills, deepen their understanding of Taiwanese culture, and immerse them in the local experience. At the orientation session, the VP International Affairs, Prof. Hsiao-Wei Yuan encouraged the students to engage fully with local students and make the most of their time exploring the beauty of Taiwan. Dr. Jörg Polster, Director General of the German Institute Taipei, Deputy Director Andreas Hofem, Dr. Josef Goldberger, Liaison Officer, Saxon Science Liaison Office Taiwan, and representatives from TSMC's HR department were also present. They all expressed their hope that the students would return to Germany after the summer, enriched with professional and practical semiconductor training experiences and a profound understanding of Taiwanese culture.
