Vital Materials Co., Limited exemplifies the power of material science with its high-purity #Bismuth alloys and functional materials, driving innovation in key technologies from automotive sensing and infrared systems to sustainable coatings. In thin‑film and vacuum-coating applications, these materials unfold their full potential only when processed with precision and technological reliability. That’s where we come in: At FHR Anlagenbau, we develop advanced #VacuumCoating systems that enable the deposition of bismuth and other specialty metals into high‑performance thin films – for sensing, optics, and electronics. We also recognize the strategic relevance of bismuth-based alloys – often referred to as #QuantumMaterials – for future technologies in electronics and quantum systems. For example, our R&D team, including Dr. Jose Barzola Quiquia in the Advanced Technologies division, contributed to the recent peer‑reviewed study “Thermopower and resistivity of the topological insulator Bi₂Te₃ in the amorphous and crystalline phase” (J. Phys.: Condens. Matter, June 2024). The work reports the in-situ preparation and characterization of thin Bi₂Te₃ films, revealing quantum surface conduction down to 1 K and demonstrating material and process control that directly informs our equipment design for industrial-scale production. These insights enhance our ability to design vacuum coating systems tailored to the highest standards required for manufacturing next-generation, quantum-grade thin films. Together with partners like Vital Materials, we are helping shape the future of functional materials – from fundamental research to industrial implementation. 👉 Curious how thin-film engineering translates quantum materials into industrial solutions? Let’s connect. #WeAreFHR #TheThinFilmCompany

🌟 International Day of Light – The Invisible Hero in #QuantumTech 🌌 What if solar panels could harvest energy from moonlight? What about medical sensing devices that could detect diseases at the atomic level, improving diagnostics at an early stage? While these breakthroughs are still evolving, light-driven coatings enable today's high-end applications utilizing vacuum coating technologies. The #InternationalDayofLight is a global initiative by UNESCO to recognize the transformative power of light in science, technology, and culture. Looking ahead, 2025 marks the UN's International Year of Quantum Science and Technology #IYQ2025 – showcasing how breakthroughs in quantum research are built on mastering light at the smallest dimensions. Let's shed light on how thin-film coatings support our everyday lives already: 👓 Anti-Reflective Coatings: Dielectric layers (e.g., SiO₂/MgF₂) reduce light loss in lenses, solar panels, and quantum optics. Control of sub-nanometer thickness ensures maximum light transmission for cameras, AR glasses, and medical imaging devices. 🔆 Energy Efficiency: Vacuum-evaporated perovskite coatings enable high-efficiency tandem solar cells by depositing uniform, pinhole-free layers on silicon substrates. This scalable process boosts photon capture and durability, pushing efficiencies beyond 25% while supporting stable, long-lasting performance. By integrating seamlessly with silicon production, vacuum evaporation helps drive the future of sustainable solar energy. ⚛️ Quantum-Ready Surfaces: Atomically precise coatings on photonic chips or quantum sensors minimize light interference, which is critical for qubit stability. Our systems can deposit barrier layers to protect light-emitting components from moisture while maintaining optical clarity. Many of today's high-performance coatings would be impossible without precise optical measurement and plasma technologies: From quantum computing to sustainable energy, light-based coatings are transforming possibilities. How will you harness their potential? #WeAreFHR #TheThinFilmCompany
