Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy (KPFM) is a very powerful technique for nanoelectrical characterization. In the lab, it is important to select a KPFM mode best suited to your experimental requirements. While amplitude-modulated KPFM delivers supreme signal sensitivity, frequency-modulated KPFM excels in lateral resolution. If you want to learn more, including how to implement different KPFM modes with our cantilever-based atomic force microscope attoAFM I, check out our latest Tech Note from Ankit Sharma & Balazs Sipos https://lnkd.in/gRYE4RDq Visit the attoAFM I page here https://lnkd.in/dq5ZrBPs #KPFM #atomicforcemicroscopy #characterization

A new study from the Thomas Taubner group, published in Nature Communications, highlights the power of cryogenic near-field infrared spectroscopy for probing 2D electron systems in oxide heterostructures. Using scattering-type scanning near-field optical microscopy (cryo-neaSCOPE) at just 8 K, the researchers were able to disentangle the effects of carrier concentration and mobility - offering deep insights into nanoscale inhomogeneities. Their measurements revealed distinct infrared “fingerprint” responses in LaAlO₃/SrTiO₃ 2DEGs. This powerful approach holds promise for investigating other confined electron systems, including 2D materials and topological insulators. Last Wednesday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Farough Roustaie and a group of dedicated students from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at TU Darmstadt to the Nanofactory. As part of their course on Practical Development Methodology, the students explored innovative approaches to product development — and we had some great conversations along the way. Thanks for your curiosity, your questions, and your energy (after a long train ride)! We love sharing what we do - from the first spark of an idea to the final implementation - and learning from the fresh perspectives of the next generation of developers. We’re already looking forward to the next exchange! 🙌 #Nanofactory #InnovationInAction #SharingKnowledge #NewPerspectives

6 DoF Position Tracking and Control of Precision Stages High-precision, high-speed XY-stages are essential for miniaturization in semiconductors, optics, photonics, and machine tooling. However, achieving accurate positioning near the Point of Interest (POI) remains a challenge - especially in all 6 DoF at high speeds and over long ranges. Conventional interferometers often fall short due to bulk and bandwidth limits. Visit our OEM page & learn how the IDS3010 tackles this challenge https://lnkd.in/d_v6GmuF #PrecisionEngineering #Photonics #Semiconductors #MachineTooling #Interferometry #Miniaturization #XYStages #IDS3010
