🌍 Connecting Global Markets at AWT 2025 On June 25, our colleague Linda Blechert represented us at the IHK Außenwirtschaftstag NRW 2025 at BORUSSIA-PARK in Mönchengladbach — hosted by the Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHKs) in North Rhine-Westphalia. With over 1,000 participants and German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHK) representatives from more than 50 countries, the event served as a key platform for internationally active companies to explore global market opportunities. In one-on-one consultations, many businesses from NRW took the chance to learn more about entering or expanding in the Taiwanese market. A top event for internationally active companies in NRW – empowering global business connections and insights. 👋 Time to say goodbye — and thank you!   Yesterday, we said farewell to our interns Leon Schönfeld and Irena Chih-Yen Tzeng, who supported our Market Entry and Business Alliance Team over the past months.   As part of his legal clerkship (Rechtsreferendariat), Leon contributed to our office by handling legal inquiries, drafting and reviewing contracts, and supporting legal aspects of company foundation. His structured approach and thorough research strengthened our legal advisory services and helped German and Taiwanese companies navigate legal questions more confidently.   Irena supported our Business Alliance Team with great dedication, contributing to the preparation of delegation visits, organizing events, conducting market research, and assisting companies from both Taiwan and Germany with their inquiries. Her strong intercultural understanding and commitment made her a valuable asset to our team.   Thank you both for your great support and dedication — it was a pleasure having you on the team! 🎓Promoting Practical Learning Through International Exchange Last week, Dr. Eva Langerbeck, Chief Representative and Executive Director of the German Trade Office Taipei, was honored to attend the Presentation Ceremony for Outstanding Students’ Overseas Professional Training, organized by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education. During the event, she accepted a certificate of appreciation on behalf of GTO for supporting the coordination of the students’ visit to Germany. This study trip, organized by the Ministry of Education, brought 118 award-winning students from the National High School Skills Competition to Germany for a two-week overseas training program. The program included company visits and designed to deepen their practical skills and broaden their global perspective. We were pleased to help arrange visits to the following German companies: 🔹 BASF SE 🔹 TRUMPF Werkzeugmaschinen SE + Co. Foreign Exchange Market, Tariffs, Risk: Strengthening Dialogue with Taiwan’s Central Bank Last week, our Chief Representative and Executive Director Dr. Eva Langerbeck visited the Central Bank of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and met with key representatives from the Department of Foreign Exchange and Department of Economic Research. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on recent developments in Taiwan’s foreign exchange market, global tariff challenges, and financial risk management strategies for international companies. Taiwan Semiconductor Delegation in Saxony | Wrapping Up a Deep-Dive Exchange 🏙️As the visit comes to a close, the Taiwan semiconductor delegation’s exchange in Saxony reached its key phase. Through site visits, we gained first-hand insights into the industrial landscape of Dresden and Chemnitz 🔍 📝An investment briefing by Saxony Trade & Invest Corp. and the City of Dresden covered topics from company setup and relocation to urban development, followed by a tour of local industrial parks.   🏭At GlobalFoundries, the delegation explored process strategies and discussed future collaboration opportunities, especially in supply chain alignment and workforce development. 🏗️Special thanks to Dr. Christian Koitzsch, President of ESMC, for guiding us through the construction site and sharing future plans of the European semiconductor project 📈. We also visited key players in the local semiconductor supply chain, including SEMPA SYSTEMS, which specializes in high-purity chemical and gas supply systems, and Fäth GmbH, focused on chemical modules and process system integration—both showing strong potential for collaboration with Taiwanese partners 🤝🔧. Our final stop in Chemnitz included the Makers United networking event and a warm welcome from the Mayor. As the European Capital of Culture 2025, Chemnitz is actively bridging innovation, culture, and industry 🌍. Big thanks to all our partners.
