👋 Meet our new Media and Communications Intern, Ronja Füldner! Ronja has completed her studies in Modern Sinology and History at the Universität Trier. During her studies, she spent a year abroad at National Chengchi University (NCCU) in Taipei, where she deepened her academic focus and developed a connection to Taiwan’s culture, people and language. Currently, she’s expanding her academic background with an economics certificate from FernUniversität in Hagen. Outside the office, Ronja enjoys hiking and exploring new corners of the island. Being a big fan of Taiwanese cuisine, she is also on a mission to discover the best food spots in the city. Over the next six months, she will support our team with media and communications tasks, including managing our social media presence, keeping our website up to date and contributing to our publications such as the weekly InfoBrief Taiwan and the monthly InfoBrief Germany. 🌐 Strengthening Taiwan–Germany Trade Relations   On Tuesday, August 6, our Executive Director Dr. Eva Langerbeck had the pleasure of meeting William Liu, Director General of the International Trade Administration at the Ministry of Economic Affairs (Taiwan) (MOEA).   💬 The discussion covered the current state and future potential of trade between Taiwan and Germany, including key topics such as tariffs and trade barriers. We also exchanged views on upcoming visits by German delegations, which aim to support closer cooperation.   Looking ahead, we explored arrangements for the next Taiwan-Germany Joint Business Council, aiming to create new opportunities for businesses on both sides.   🤝 Many thanks to Director General Liu for this insightful and forward-looking exchange. 👋 Meet our new DE International Taiwan Ltd. trade fair service Intern, Lisa 何絲靖 Lisa is currently studying German with a minor in International Business at Soochow University. She believes that language is a powerful key to understanding different cultures and markets and is eager to continue developing her language skills while broadening her global perspective. In 2023, she spent a year abroad at the University of Münster in Germany, where she enhanced her language abilities and immersed herself in local culture. With her academic background, Lisa is now looking to gain hands-on experience in international business, particularly in trade fair marketing and cross-cultural communication. During her internship, she will support our team in organizing trade fairs, writing social media content and InfoBrief articles, and assisting with on-site coordination for exhibitors and German Pavilions. 🏙 Strengthening German-Taiwanese ties in Taichung!   On July 30, our Chief Representative Dr. Eva Langerbeck was welcomed by Taichung Mayor Lu, Shiow-Yen for an exchange on economic cooperation, cultural ties, and developments in the machinery industry.   Mayor Lu emphasized Taichung’s role as Taiwan’s second-largest city and key industrial hub and introduced support measures for foreign companies such as a 'single-window' service and subsidies for overseas exhibitions.
