👋 Time to say goodbye — and thank you!   Yesterday, we said farewell to our intern Laura Herrmann, who has supported our Media & Communications Team over the past 6 months.   During her internship, Laura worked closely with all teams across the office, helping to promote their events and activities through social media, newsletters, and the website. She also created many of the visuals you’ve seen on our channels and contributed to the weekly InfoBrief.   Thank you, Laura, for your great support and team spirit! 🤝 Strengthening German-Taiwanese ties in North Rhine-Westphalia! Together with Director Mr. Ching-Ting Hung from the Taipei Representative Office in Frankfurt, our team visited IHK Aachen – now officially the focus chamber for Taiwan in NRW. We were warmly welcomed by Annadora Voß and Lea Quadflieg from the international department and had fruitful discussions on how to further expand cooperation between the Aachen region and Taiwan. Key sectors included medical technology, semiconductors, and aviation – all areas with high innovation potential on both sides. We were also pleased to be joined by AGIT MBH , who highlighted the region’s economic strengths and its attractiveness for Taiwanese investors. 🤝 Startup Exchange at the German Trade Office Taipei On June 27, we welcomed Dr. Stefan Drews from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and Claus J. Karthe, CEO Asia at Start2 Group, for an exchange on the internationalization of startups and opportunities in Taiwan’s innovation landscape. Joined by representatives from GTAI, Bosch Taiwan, Siemens Taiwan, Foxconn, Mosaic Venture Lab, and Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI)(工業技術研究院, 工研院), the discussion highlighted Taiwan’s dynamic startup ecosystem, policy trends, and the potential for stronger German–Taiwanese collaboration. The exchange offered valuable insights into how German and Taiwanese stakeholders can work together to support innovation, accelerate tech partnerships, and strengthen the startup bridge between both economies. On June 24, we had privilege of visiting one of our Business Alliance members, Kärcher Taiwan, and meet their new General Manager, Mr. Henry Lee, who is originally from Singapore.   As the world’s leading provider of cleaning technology, Kärcher offers a wide variety of products and solutions to address everyday challenges and shape the future of cleaning industry. Additionally, the concept of sustainability is deeply embedded in Kärcher’s philosophy. Over the past 40 years, they have been carrying out more than 90 cleaning projects worldwide to help preserve the historical monuments and buildings. 🌍 Connecting Global Markets at AWT 2025 On June 25, our colleague Linda Blechert represented us at the IHK Außenwirtschaftstag NRW 2025 at BORUSSIA-PARK in Mönchengladbach — hosted by the Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHKs) in North Rhine-Westphalia. With over 1,000 participants and German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHK) representatives from more than 50 countries, the event served as a key platform for internationally active companies to explore global market opportunities. In one-on-one consultations, many businesses from NRW took the chance to learn more about entering or expanding in the Taiwanese market. A top event for internationally active companies in NRW – empowering global business connections and insights.
